Dr. Morton’s Story
I went to medical school at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, completing my M.D. in 1993 and being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. I completed my Internal Medicine Residency at Columbia University Medical Center, coming out of the program with a strong sense that serving the patient’s needs above all others and teaching the next generation of primary care providers is paramount. I stayed at Columbia teaching medical students and residents and working as an internist at Columbia University Medical Center for the next 9 years. I subsequently went to practice in Westchester County and raised a son, a daughter, and a lovely dog, all while providing excellent medical care with the “patient comes first” ideal.
What my patients have emphasized as valuable to them is time spent listening to their concerns and my availability when issues arise. These principles are common sense, yet this is sorely lacking in today’s rushed environment. With my desire to focus on improving health outcomes and healthcare delivery, I completed a Master of Public Health degree in 2021 at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice.
I decided to create a patient-centered concierge practice, emphasizing wellness, prevention, and nutrition because it truly allows me to focus on the patient, an environment that is unrushed and welcoming. I bring with me many years of clinical experience caring for the patients’ “heart and soul”, individualizing my approach depending on what my patients’ needs are. I pride myself on listening and engaging with my patients, favoring shared decision-making, and involving my patients wholly in all aspects of their care. I emphasize health maintenance, screenings, and healthy lifestyles to maintain physical and mental health. I spent many years in an academic institution, engaging with complex patients, consulting with various specialists, and teaching residents and medical students.
Outside of medicine, I am passionate about my children and family, the welfare of animals, and taking the time to smell the roses, preferably outdoors. I hope that I will get to meet you in person and we can start building a lasting and rewarding patient-doctor relationship.
